Virtual POATSP Preceptorship Pilot for Rural & Remote Providers

The BC Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU) is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the Virtual Provincial Opioid Addiction Treatment Support Program (POATSP) Preceptorship Pilot, starting in Fall 2025. This initiative is designed to support rural and remote physicians and nurse practitioners in completing their POATSP Education and Training Pathway, enabling them to prescribe opioid agonist treatments (OAT) for opioid use disorder in BC.


Rural and remote MDs and NPs can now express interest in participating by completing a brief online form. This is a unique opportunity to complete the POATSP preceptorship virtually with a BCCSU-approved preceptor.
