Strengthening Pediatric Care on the North Shore: A Shared Model of Care for Neurodevelopmental, Behavioural, and Mental Health Referrals

We are still seeking a primary care provider from Whistler to participate in a Working Group that will support the development of a shared model of care between primary care providers and pediatricians.

Initially developed on the North Shore and now expanded to include Sea to Sky, the project aims to reduce patient wait times while supporting discharge to primary care through a clear, collaborative follow-up plan between pediatrics and primary care providers.

Responsibilities for Working Group members include:

• Participate in monthly meetings over the course of 12 months (60 minutes per meeting)

• Provide knowledge, guidance, and expertise to support the development of the shared model of care, including referral scope, triage, and care pathways
