PHSA Announces Wind Down of the Private Physician Network

The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) has announced that it is winding down the Private Physician Network (PPN), a high-speed network used by physicians to securely access clinical information within electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

This change is expected to impact approximately 850 clinics across British Columbia.

The Family Practice Services Committee (FPSC) is actively coordinating supports for clinics transitioning away from the PPN. Impacted clinics are being contacted directly with information outlining available transition options and supports.

FPSC has worked quickly to develop resources aimed at providing reassurance and practical assistance during this transition period. Supports and response measures will continue to evolve as needs are identified.
