New Urgent Ultrasound Initiative in Squamish

We’re excited to share a new initiative now available at the imaging department at SGH! Same-day access to urgent ultrasound imaging for patients who would otherwise need to visit the Emergency Department. This new pathway allows family physicians to refer patients for same-day diagnostic ultrasounds, ensuring timely care while reducing unnecessary ED visits.

This program has already seen great success on the North Shore, improving access, reducing wait times, and enhancing collaboration between primary care and diagnostic services. The referral form can be found on Pathways.  We’re thrilled to see this innovative and patient-centered model expanding to support the Squamish community.
