SWITCH BC Offers Free Workplace Safety Assessments for Clinics

The Community Physician Health and Safety Program (CPHSP) offered by SWITCH BC offers free and confidential clinic assessments to improve the function of your workplace and ensure patients and staff are safe in all aspects.

A health and safety advisor from SWITCH BC will travel to a community physician clinic, complete an assessment, and provide recommendations. Areas of focus include incident response, managing risks, non-medical emergency preparedness, worker training, and preventing violence. Assessments are free, voluntary, and confidential.

Before an on-site clinic assessment visit, physician-employers and/or their delegate (e.g. clinic manager) can set up a brief 20-minute virtual discovery meeting for the health and safety advisor to better understand the clinic’s needs. Book a discovery meeting HERE.

Recently, Whistler 360 Medical Clinic completed a CPHS Clinic assessment. Here’s what the clinic had to say.

“It was a great experience, and all of us would be happy for SWITCH BC to come back and do an ongoing assessment… At the end of the day, it gives you a practice setting that complies with regulations, and your team will feel much more empowered and confident that they are doing things correctly.”— Dr. Karin Kausky, Whistler 360

The best part was that they gave us many good tools and tips for implementing changes, so we weren’t starting from scratch. I really don’t see a downside.”
